TN - William Clarence (Bill) Robinson, 83, passed away after an extended illness, July 6, 2026, in Knoxville, TN.

Bill was the son of the late Clarence Robinson and Alma McCall Robinson.

He grew up in Cashiers, NC and graduated from Glenville High School in 1960. After graduation, he began working at Olin Paper Mill in Brevard, NC.

In 1965, he followed his heart and his lifelong love of golf, moving to Florida to pursue a career in the game that brought him much joy.

Bill's love for golf began at a very early age as a caddy at High Hampton Inn and Country Club, Cashiers, NC. What started as a boyhood introduction to the sport of golf grew into a remarkable lifelong journey. He became an assistant golf pro in Tequesta, Florida and from 1965 to 1967, had the honor of competing on the PGA TOUR, a dream made possible through years of dedication, talent, and hard work. He later concluded his professional career at Whittle Springs Country Club in Knoxville, TN.

It would be hard to overstate how deeply golf was woven into Bill's life; it is no exaggeration that his whole life revolved around golf.

Whether he was out on the course, helping others improve their game, or enjoying a tournament on television, his passion for the sport was always evident. Those who know him will remember the joy he found in golf and the enthusiasm he shared so freely with others.

Bill is survived by his beloved and faithful wife, Sherry Reese Robinson; his caring sister, Donna Robinson; his treasured daughters, Marcia Searcy (Randy), Karla Duckworth (the late Danny Duckworth Duckworth and Krystal Adams (Chuck), all of Brevard, NC; four grandsons, Aaron Newman (Lillian), Kameron Newman (Stephanie), Trent Willis (Emily), and Austin Adams (Caroline); six cherished great-grandchildren; one "favorite" niece, Carmen Franklin; and three nephews, Gary, Daren, and Garrett Robinson.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry and Charles Robinson.

Bill will be remembered with love and devotion to family, his unwavering dedication to the game of golf, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the memories of those who shared the fairways with him and, most importantly, in the hearts of the family he loved so dearly. We will miss you, Bill.
